Project Description

This eight-story hotel was constructed in 1929.  By the 1970’s, the hotel became more of an apartment building with low-price rooms and weekly rates.  It was around then when the Hotel Strathmore closed and it became 70 West Apartments because the buildings address is 70 West Alexandrine in Detroit, Michigan.  It was finally closed for good around 2005 because of it’s notoriety for drugs, prostitution, and crime.  It has remained abandoned ever since.

As of 2016, crews began renovating the building into 129 residential units and 5,000 sq. ft., of commercial space. The building was renovated and reopened as the Strathmore Apartments.
